Hi can anyone help the problem is the oven in my caravan a montecaalo 3000 will light ok but will only burn at low setting ie if i turn the gas up the flame does not increas however it goes out after a short while but will relight imediatley the hob and grill are working ok. has anyone aney sugestions. |

I had a similar problem some years ago, It turned out to be a faulty thermocoupler |

It sounds like the flame supervision device (FSD/thermocouple) has packed up.
It's hard to find oven spares online for caravans and it looks like the Maxol brand have all but vanished. The central heating side appears to be run by Halstead.
I would try a local caravan service agent for advice on spares or a friendly gas engineer. I've checked my list of manufacturers contact numbers and can't find a reference to Maxol cookers (i'm a gas eng).
I'll check the instruction books for my caravan as I have maxol gear installed but I can't quite remember which oven it is. There may be a number on the manual which may be worth a ring for parts. |

you might be able to fit auniversal thermcouple get then from caravan shop or towshure or calor gas dealers |

Thermocouples do tend to be universal in application, I'd google the question.

Many thanks for your replies,yes it was the thermocoupling £5 off fleebay! . But worth mentioning the amount of *beep* that came out of the pipe and burner when i put the airline 0n them.Again many thanks. |
