After looking on this site http://dogandlemon.com/site/japanese-vehicle-recalls/
i discovered that my SWB '94 Paj may need a brake hose recall.

I rang the local Mitsy dealer in Derby and he was quite helpful. He thought this particluar recall only applied to Shoguns but asked for the chassis and reg details in order to fax an enquiry.

While on the phone we also discussed the Pitman arm and i am taking it in on Tuesday to be replaced. I thought this was only a LWB recall, but he said they are doing all models, will take about 45 minutes. Will keep you posted.

Doug

Make sure you ask them to centre the steering wheel after doing the pitmans some dont then want to charge extra to do it.

Took it into Mitsy dealer as arranged this morning, changed the Pitman arm in less than 30 minutes. Still waiting for a reply about the brake hose recall.

I asked that they make sure the steering wheel was centred, this they did, but i found that now the indicators don't want to stay switched on for a right turn or overtake manoeuvre unless the steering wheel is moved to the left first!

Steering also seems to have more free play in the straight ahead position, maybe have to attempt to adjust the steering box.

Sorted it mysel without taking it back and saved a 35 mile round trip.

Took about 20 minutes to drop the steering wheel and cowls and reassemble.

Adjusted the steering box, haven't eliminated all the play but a big improvement.

I will update post about the brake recall if/when i hear from dealer.

cheers
Doug

Recalls.

Put your mind at rest,

"Occasionally a vehicle may be recalled for a brief safety inspection. In these circumstances the registered keeper is notified by letter. By entering your Vehicle Identification Number and Postcode in the boxes below you can check if your vehicle has ever been recalled for a safety check or if it currently needs an inspection.

Outstanding Recalls
If your vehicle currently needs a safety check please contact your nearest Mitsubishi dealer as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause".

http://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/enquiries/vin_recall.asp

Input vin and post code, sit back have a cup of tea and waite for report.

Hope this helps.

Phillip.
