Im going to an offroad event in august stourport farm, Im looking for advice on what to do to my standard lwb 2.5td yes I know tyres will be a big weak point as there only a/t 265/70/15, the only problem i keep encountering is my towbar so im removing it as its not going to be needed to tow.

Im taking a shovel, 5 ton loop strap, tirfor and going to make a ground anchor at work (thanks to a good youtube video)

Im debating taking steps off as they might hinder me but figured it may come in useful as a type of slider.

clearly im a novice so advice is extreamly welcome.

i would leave em on m8, any protections better than no protection.
be easier just not to get yourself into a situation where you are gonna be damaging your steps..
if you can make a ground anchor at work why not have a go at making a set of sliders instead of the steps Wink

There are two schools of thought - take the steps off and you have a little more ground clearance at the sills, or leave them on because they'll scrape and bend and save you from crushing the sills.

Personally I'd leave them on - they're easy enough to replace if they get damaged.
