Wish to know details about set up for rallye. I have seen Bilsteins fitted that raise the body by 2 inches and that seems counter productive with a machine that is designed by people who know what they are doing with the basic geometry, no? Also, what relative success Evos have experienced in 4x4 classes and most successful set ups. Anyone have expereince with retrofitting hydraulic rear brake levers? Also, any special technique tips for such a square track/wheelbase? I am first time owner of Evo 1998 but have not found a manual transmission one yet, but will trade when found in Russia. How many were made? Where can be found production stats? |

not to sure about the rally mods, but i did a manual conversion in my evo. all out of a 3.5 dohc model. 5mv31 box. same ratios and parts. same transfer case. had to notch the manual gearbox x member where the bushes go as the manual sits 20mm forward. also made a 30mm spacer for the tail shaft where it bolts to the diff.
manual gearbox wirering loom simply plugs in, (removed the auto ecu and has had not issues with engine lights etc etc, you have to mod/plate up the hole in the floor for the shifter to fit the rubber boot.
the only issue i had was making the clutch master cyl/pedal fit as it had different mounting holes/offset as the master was super close to the rocker cover.
fuel economy went from 20L/100km round town to 16L/100km and power at wheels went from 135rwkw to 160 rwkw using apexi safc and apexi s-itc.
hope that helps. |
