1995 SWB 2.8 Turbo, Automatix Gearbox
Just bought, as used car, and did my calculations Tank full to edge, from full to full, calculate kilometers and litres)
1. In city: 15 L /100 km, or 18,7 mpg
2. High Way (speed 105-110km/h): 11,9 L/100 km or 23,7 mpg
I think it could do better than that...little dissapointed
Though i could have at least 10 L/100km (28mpg) on high-way
I just used that cleaning liquid that goes into tank, for cleaning fuel system..nothing more.
Maybe must check also other factors (i wrote a lot in here...) |

Not going to check my MPG until I've checked...
No sticky callipers...
No bearings droning...
Diff / Gear / Transfer box oils are checked and /or changed for peace of mind. |

Mine clocks an average of 23-24mpg so on a motorway circa 29-30mpg (75mph average) and around the country lanes 22-23mpg. There's no sustained town driving where I live in France so on 60mph (90-100kph) roads and lanes. |

Our 3.8L V6 over the last ~45,000 Km (~28,000 mi) has given us 16.71 L/100Km overall (16.91 mi/gal).
In sand dunes, low range 4x4 over 610 Km (in 5 days) gave an average of 22.35L/100Km (12.64 mi/gal) with a maximum of 27L/100Km (10.5 mi/gal) in the deepest dunes.
Best consumption has been 10.75L/100Km (26.3 mi/gal) over 550 Km (342 mi) on the eastern third of the Nullarbor, at a constant speed (absolutely constant) of 80Km/h in the South Australian section and 90 Km/h in Western Australia.
(Gallons noted are Imperial). |
