If it fills your needs, then it's your decision.
Not aware of any bad points on them. |

I spoke to a cop who drives them, says they're useless on anything but Tarmac. Says when it snowed they parked them up.
Different cup of tea.. |

I think they're lovely motors but things like service & parts costs would concern me. |

Nice motors,no question on that but a different motor in every way.
Check rear camber as most x5 have same issue as the mk3 pajero/shoguns /------\
Also check part prices out,as an MOT fail on 2 tyres, new zaust will set you back the cost of a decent sport
The 3.0d is the sensible recommended choice but i still dont think BMW have got it right just yet(as with most newer dervs) but thats my opinion.
Lots of power/torque and reasonable mpg.
The v8 go for good money as obv they are thirsty,so depending on miles you do its an option of a very nice engine
As said it is the running costs, bings and bongs will become part of your daily life sensors for sensors love to cause lights on dash boards............
Nipping to the scrappy for a fuel tank sender at £10 have gone to £150 problems now...........unless you get lucky or an ebay special which could be same.(just an example) |
