Here are some pictures of what happened. Could just have been unlucky with a poor batch
but this happened after one short drive.
as it came off
Old and new, the old ones are a thicker metal much harder with a smaller hole, also they
have extra bends in them to make them more rigid. New ones are very soft.
Thanks. |

Just replaced mine and went for genuine Mitsi ones .... Milners £20 inc delivery versus genuine Mitsi £25 (and they delivered them to my door )
Have also noticed from the pics of the Milners ones that with the genuine ones you get 5 disc cups per drop link!
There is an extra disc cup with a shoulder on it that goes between the chassis and the lower top bush (if that makes sense), I will try to post a pic later.
great info on here for replacing them though, went straight in with the angle grinder .... simples |

Ah now I see the pics.
these look like same kit I bought mine, only got 1 fitted at mo.
I had to buy a kit as d bushese failed, I got a set to fit but wrong size.
had to buy a delcia kit as my roll bar 22mm.
was told this size dont exist.
I just kept all other parts in draw as knew it wont be long before needed. |

That nut looks a long way down the thread, how tight did you do them up? |

I assume you did put the metal spacer tube tube on the bolt.
From the top down it should be.
Nut
washer
bush
chassis
bush
washer
spacer tube
washer
bush
ARB
bush
washer
Bolt head
If you did put the tube on then the washer seems to have slipped over it so the washer must be faulty. |

I also recently fitted the milners bushes in question..did the whole truck all over with them..no problems so far..
(could it be you have maybe wound them up a tad too tight and they have just snapped)
in fact while I was getting her mot just this morning several of the mechanics gathered round to admire the said bushes they seemed to be drawn to the bright shiny orange colour.. one even asked where I had purchased them from..
on a final note the 21 year old also sailed through her mot 2nd year in a row not even an advisory..tester said he had to look twice at her age as could'nt beleive she was 21 years young.. |

How far are you supposed to tighten the nut down? I fitted some from Milners yesterday and it's improved the ride massively (not hard seeing as one side only had 3 bushes on the old set!) but not sure if I need to tighten them down more. I've got about a quarter of an inch of the thread showing above the top of the nuts.
Also where do the 2 other bushes that come in the pack go on the rear? |

I tightened mine up fully till they wouldn't tighten any more.
The other two go around the ARB and clamp to the axle - undo the bolt that holds the bracket onto the axle and lift up the ARB and slot the bush in. That is assuming you are talking about the one with the split in it. Follow the ARB until you see the clamp around it.
And careful not to snap the bolt when you undo it otherwise you will be drilling and tapping for hours. |

I was a bit nervous about tightening them too much in case the same happened as with the guy above! I'll give it a go.
Yes, I mean the rear bushes with the split. I already broke 2 bolts when changing the front ones! Luckily the access was good enough to be able to cut off the captive nuts and I've replaced them with new high tensile nuts and bolts. |

If in doubt, a heavy duty flat washer fitted at each end of the spacer tube would solve this problem I'm sure. |

In what way did it improve it? Less roll? Were your original ones *beep* or was it purely an upgrade? |
