Me personally I would of tried to mount plate on manifold if I went to that agro.
Knowing me it will just be a bolt in vacuum pipe lol. |

Home made plates.
You can see it step by step in removing the egr post on my blog. |

Coke tin? Use the tin to drink the Coke
I wouldn't use that for egr blanking.
Use at least 4mm steel plate if you are doing it yourself and not buying a kit from eBay. |

Have you bridged the water pipes that go to the cooler? The water jacket in the cooler can leak into the exhaust giving similar symptoms to a failed head. |

Hi,
Not yet, it's on my "to do" list
Thank you for the reminder.
Is there any specific hose that can be bought for that? |

15 years back I blanked my egrv with a thin "tin plate", but was it a coke can or a jam tin, can't remember ?
It worked for some years, there's little pressure and not much corrosion in that area, only a pin hole in it by then.
I replaced it with a 2 mm plate a couple of years back, can't remember if that plate came from a battle tank or a destroyer,. |

If it was me I would probably use a length of copper water pipe. As that is what I have lying around. |

60cm of a 16mm hose and some coolant that had to be added...

Thank you to all those who smiled at my simple piece of humor.
By the way, I didn't remove the egrv, I sandwiched the blanking plate between the manifold and the valve. And plugged the vacuum pipe too.
Looks original and neat. |

I know it's an option, but if it is not working, I prefer it won't be there, less hoses - the better |
