Don't assume the worst, give it a clean and find where it's leaking from |

Tried that Vijay but cant see even with a mirror its leaking from the pump, between the pump and engine block , so guess I will have to take the pump off, again, ordered a rebuild seal kit so as its off may as well do it anyway , unless anyone has a better idea ? |

Try running straight diesel again, it's worked for others but means you have to change the seal before running veg again |

Damm it , got a full tank of mix, but suppose it would be an easier option, the annoying thing is I got the truck cheaper because the shaft seal had gone and I had the pump off to fix that not 3 months ago , well practice makes perfect , doh

Question, with the pump off should I be able to turn it by hand with a spanner on the front nut, ? |

well using this very good guide http://gnarlodious.com/vanagon/bosch_pump/-Rebuild, I have rebuilt the pump got it on and up and running it was quite easy to follow, the only important bit of information missing is to mark the front mounting plate to the pump body to ensure you get it back in the right position, I didn't and was a couple of degrees retarded when it was all back together despite the timing marks on the pump being aligned, not to bad to rectify without taking the pump off but another job that does not need to be done if you mark it up before disassembly. |
