Hello guys bought a little pinin to replace my guzzling Pajero and love it but it's the Mpi AWD version , could not believe it when I collected off some fella off eBay .
I love the truck but dissapointed with this .
Looks really straight forward but wats involved in converting to transfer box.
The awd system on back of gearbox even looks like a transfer box .
Can this box be modded or can I simply bolt a transfer box on the back .

So happens this awd box has become really noisy , looks like the back end of box will come off in place .
Any one done this

Good news I bought another gearbox with transfer box .
Transfer box was simple to remove , you have to take the main gear stick out and remove a pin which holds a brass lever on selector shaft .
Then just remove ring of bolts and transfer box just falls off .

Removing my awd box was abit tricky exactly the same but knocking pin out of selector in car is a little tricky .

The Awd box is identical to the transfer box but it has no gears .

I partially knocked the pin in brass lever as new it would be a potch in car .
I also had an extra pair of hand to put this brass lever in place while I lifted the transfer box in .

Must say it worked out perfectly and I'm very pleased , I still need to get hold of the lower boot on top of transfer lever but will find one if them soon .
I was going to change the clocks and wire the 4wd lights up but decided against it as wiring was not there under vehicle so just trimmed wires back to switches nice and neat .
Very pleased though this little truck should go any where now and feels like a real 4wd

When I first bought my pinin was dissapointed to find out I had bought An Awd one didn't even though they existed .
As it was an eBay sale I had to buy it .
Was gutted though .
I'm so pleased with it now sand a straight forward simple conversion it was .
Took me maximum 4 hours but I used air tools and had it up
On a two post lift .

I had a Pinin years ago - it was a lovely car but I needed something bigger for work.

I think mine has superselect on it so could switch from 2WD to 4WD

Yes I think this transfer box from a gdi model mine was an mpi , I use mine a lot up my field and to now have low range is Awsome as it was harsh on the clutch other wise just stuck in AWD

Mine was an auto - it drove really well but I never took it off road - at the time it was too new.

The Awd in my opinion is useless , uses more fuel and is a drag on tyres plus if you do have to take it off road it Prob get stuck , plus biggest bonus of the transfer box is you can put it into low then it has so much power and easy on clutch .

Any way I'm thinking of selling mine soon as not big enough inside for my rc helicopters lol .
