It doesn't have a front diff lock. It had a centre diff lock. The rear diff lock is also an optional extra. |

It maybe has a LSD at the rear - mine has.
I don't think front diff locks were fitted at the factory - it may be an aftermarket one fitted by a previous owner.
Are you sure it's a front diff lock? - if so it would be very rare. |

Hi marshall
I think you'll find that it is the front prop shaft that is locked, that's what 4llc does, and you have one wheel on the ground, trying to rotate the the one wheel which is off the ground.
Put the lever into N and then turn the one wheel, you'll find it does turn, and turns the prop shaft too.
Most locking diffs are compressed air activated, so you would have an air pipe entering the diff casing, a small compressor in the truck, and a switch on the dash.
It's possible an aftermarket diff lock has been fitted, but if the truck is otherwise standard, then this is not likely.

It is not a diff lock. It is the freewheel clutch that allows the system to engage the front wheels to run in 4wd and disengage them to run in 2wd. Every Superselect Mk2 or 3 Shogun/Pajero has the same thing. |
