i have a 3.2 DID it seam to get stuck in 3rd some times when hot then left to cool down works fine
can any one help

How long ago was the oil last changed?
Check mountings, if its manual check the gear lever for excessive play etc |

auto box
had a second hand one fitted as blow the first one when i was towing my caravan in 2wd not knowing it had to be in 4h |

I understand that the handbook advices the use of 4WD for towing. There's no reason that using 2WD for towing would cause gearbox failure though.
Do you know that the replacement gearbox was working properly prior to fitment? Have you approached the supplier/fitter of the replacement box? Equally can you be sure you haven't got some other problem that's affected both gearboxes? |

The first step is a complete oil flush with Diaqueen SP111.
Follow the procedure in search, as it's a flush process not just drain and fill.
I'm sure someone like Simon here can pull this up for you. |

hi thanks for all the replies
my local gearbox garage check and installed the box and was in good order this was over a year ago
some times there is a sensor that i get cleaned and the gear box then works great
could it be that sensor
