My 2p worth would be don't buy a cheap one! I got one for green laning so was only a forward looking camera and while it was OK (just) picture wise, the sound was awful and the build quality was rubbish! Its broken after being used only three times - only cost £35 so not to osworried, but I'd spend a bit more and get a better quality one in the future... |

I used the cheapest one for more than a year.
Sound was bad, video was ok.
It depends what you need it for - document the trip or getting high quality off road pictures (go pro?)
Anyway, it was installed on my 4x4 XJ till I sold it, ~2 months ago.
I bought the same model for my Pajero, but didn't have the time to install it yet.
On eBay it is: "HD Portable DVR with 2.5" TFT LCD Screen" (I can't post links here yet, too new )

Well after a couple of months the camera stopped turning on automatically and the battery back up failed. So back it went to Lidl. Full refund no questions asked?😎
Onto Amazon and a Blaupunkt one ordered and now installed only £10 more so not to bad.
Video quality was good on the Lidl one, haven't checked the new one yet. |

Just my view for what it's worth. I got one of these. Installed in the company van. I then had and accident- my fault completely!!! It didn't record or capture the incident 😳. I know you can get get cheap dash cams off ebay or the like but as we all know, you only get what you pay for. My camara has been sitting in the kitchen draw for some time and will continue to do so. |

That's why I got one that turns on when the ignition powers the socket.
I don't have any worries about recording my driving. It's the other idiots that worry me! |

Pretty much everything is out of China and kid you not, even made in USA and Canada ,Armytek ..........(yep different but true example)is just one ........
Now how they get around it is it has to be made to their specs in short, goes without saying China are more advanced and can produce far cheaper due to many reasons(labour as just one). However issues happen due to sourcing parts, materials still(even in china) so they substitute materials or parts and reputations soon dwindle......anyway thats waffle
Looks by the way
Will certainly bare that one in mind too |

It is often because the power lead of the item causing the interference is connected too close to the radio power connection.
Has it got a plug that fits the cigarette lighter? or is it wired into the car wiring?
If hard-wired into the car wiring then try connecting it further away from the radio (especially the aerial lead).
Other methods are to add an extra earth wire between the radio casing and the car body.
If that doesn't work - or you have to plug it in to the lighter socket the something like THIS might work. |

How is it wired in,is it to the stereo power? Presume radio interference and not mp3/usb /cd etc.
Maybe a frequency issue or just another route for wiring in.........does the aerial sit direct above the camera? maybe that.......... |

It may be that the plug isn't of high quality and is producing Radio Frequency interference.
Try another plug/wire if you have got one - also try moving the wire from the plug to the unit away from the radio and see if the interference changes or goes away. |
