Mark is coming to sort out the pump seals....no more 10ft journeys for me! Thanks for the replies, I'm sure I'll need lots more advice in the coming months...so far have had brake caliper, discs, atf change, full oil service, anti roll bar bushes and drop links. My pockets are emptying, faster than the fuel tank....lol better truck than my fourtrak, and less stealable (i hope) |

Don't believe it! - apparently they are the favourite trucks for gypsies.
I've got an alarm, an immobilser, a pager and a tracker on mine - and i use a Krooklok on the steering wheel in iffy areas. |

What's the best method for security, i have a thatchem1-toad alarm/immobiliser. Disklok? Or some home made cut out switch? |

Tracker is the best I think.
They can disable the alarm - cut off the steering lock - bypass the immobilser - load it onto a trailer etc.
Whatever they do I can still track where my truck is. Even if they disconnect the battery the tracker still works for 6 hours on it's own internal battery.
Tracker HERE
It's Chinese but mines worked perfectly for over 2 years - it needs a PAYG SIM card in it and an app for a smartphone.
I can see on Google Maps where my truck is all the time. |

Cant hurt pete, seems like a good idea that tracker...i have ordered one, pity my fourtrak hadn't had one when it got stolen! I have to be honest and say that the pajero is far more civilized than the fourtrak, and heated seats are awesome! Lol |

I've not got heated seats
There is an app for android smartphones that works really well.
If the alarm goes off then the tracker sends a text and the app converts it to show on Google maps. You can switch the tracker on and off with a phone call - even switch off the engine! Or you can get it to track on Google maps every 30 seconds.
I got an Orange 2G SIM off eBay for about £3 and I top it up with £10 about twice a year (because I keep playing with it!)
The App is called Austral GPS tracker TK SMS - HERE
If you think the fourtrak is basic - I had a Series 3 Landy - it was horrible!! |

Fuel consumption should improve drastically when pump seal is done, the usual increase is from around 15 to 25 mpg |
