hi all on my 2001 pinini 2.0 petrol gdi i have the engine management light comes on
when i put the diagnostic reader on it keeps saying the same code etc and its
catalyst converter block 1
as any body else had this and is there a way round it or is it a new item i need to purchase

You can try running some cat cleaner through the engine. From memory, the spec says that if the cat is less that 95% efficient, the light comes on, so you are probably at 94% - cleaning it out might save you a few bob.
