My guess will be 235... What sizes are on your pillar as default 265;285?

I would have thought your going to have to change the 18" rims as even if you go 235 or 255(examples) the tyre wall will need to be larger .

I would look at 255/55/18 ..............otherwise with 7.5j there will not be much side protection to the rims with narrower tyres Wink

Mine on 16' alloys are 235 or 265 I prefer 265 70 16 as it offers more grip then 235. You should have 2 sizes 285 and another one..

I was going to suggest 16" rims as offers far more choice, but was not sure due to costs etc.............then again most 18" boots are not cheap!!!

I do agree on 2 sizes if off road use........mainly or all road then i would be sticking with no less than 255.

If its bumps as lower profile tyres are a nightmare(especially with condition of roads) then narrower and taller walls would be better, would effect handling a little too as more flex in side walls.............

Can i ask why you want narrower tyres over the 285s Rich, any specific reason as may help to pin down a good option Wink

Hi, venn105 going to change because they want to follow the road too much, also not that great in bad weather, brilliant on dry and wet road anything else too much surface area slips about alot. I was thinking 255 65 18 might be better prob 70/80% on road And they are cheaper

Yes,seems a good happy medium if sticking with 18" rims, you should not feel the bumps as much too!!!

Imo i would not go any narrower as although superficial,it could make truck look a little narrow on the tyres, also as i mentioned it offers a little protection from curbs etc too.

Very Happy
