I have done a search for this but could do with some advice.  I just got the Pinin home.  I knew that there was a sunroof problem when I bought it as it was on my checklist.
It opens fine, all the way but then closes and inch or so and stops. I press the switch and it goes another inch and so on.
First is that normal or is it stopping because of a fault?
Then when it gets to about an inch from fully closed it stops completely and the clutch/ratchet makes a slipping noise. To get it to shut needs a hand pulling on it.

I did a search and for regular Pajeros the cure seems to be to clean the track thoroughly and lube it.  So can anyone help me with ideas please.  The motor seems fine and powerful enough.

It sounds like the usual problem of dirty sliders.

Do the same as on the bigger pajeros

Open the roof fully and clean any muck out with a cloth / small paintbrush.

Use a silicon spray (not WD40) and spray all the guides keep trying the sunroof and spraying again and eventually it will slide easier.

Then maintain it with regular cleaning and lubricating
