Here is the pic

It is leaking from the seal in the small pipe that has the electrical connector, looks like it will just undo and the o ring can be replaced?? any idea if there are
any springs valves etc in there.???

Hello Jb

Thanks for the info.

I had to get the whole box as well  Laughing  Laughing

This part could be removed without taking the compressor off, undoes with one 5mm allen key. Wish I had known that part beforehand. Laughing

For anyone needing these . you will need 2 x 9mm id x 2mm 1x 6mm x 2 and 1x 8.5 x 2mm  this kit did not have an 8.5 so I am going to put the old one back in as it is the one that fits two flat faces so hopefully it will be ok.

shame you are not nearer I could have rifled through your box lol

I got plenty left over if anyone needs any.

see me regassed  Laughing

Hello ktp and jb  Very Happy

Thank you for that.  I just don't like things that don't work Laughing

I hope it lasts until next summer now,...... it is nice on a hot day Cool  Cool  Cool

While I was at it I changed the oil,, upside was I think I found the oil leak that I have been chasing for ages. I hope it was the banjo bolt above the oil filter.

see me mopping up Laughing

Yep great stuff.
I see no reason why it won't last as youve used the correct seals.
I know a bit expensive for kit but its like hydraulic o rings, the times ive seen people use wrong o rings, they just dont last.

hello jb

The seals that came out of it were black, which is a bit confusing. I have no way of knowing if they are original or not. That kit was only 10.00 so not too bad, got plenty left over as well  Laughing

That  kit did not have the 8.5 mm or the smaller one required for the lp/hp hoses.

I never thought about how o rings seal before. Apparently they are quite mobile in use and they need lubrication  to move about. here is a bit on the subject.

see me well sealed Laughing

Well when I work on cars I often find all colours.
different makes use all colours.
its about the sixe and what the rubber is made off that makes all the difference.
Them o rings never use to be green.
I think there green now so you know there for aircon.
hydraulic o rings are still black but much harder.
very important the size and thickness is correct or it wont last.

Surely thats not on r12 is it?
Or that blows my theroy out of the water lol.
I was going by the old cars I worked on.
years back I woŕked for plące restoring old classic cars.
the owner was well into banger racing.
every Wednesdays I had to repair the ood cortinas with a dozer if to far gone then strip another out.
they use to often get the long cortinas that were from the funeral directors.
Immaculate condition but obviously worthless.
some were for carrying people others for the coffins.
they never had green o rings.
they were around late 70s and early 80s.
thats why I assumed that.
Maybe some cars did use green and others not.
who knows.
