My better half is looking to get herself a 2 door pinin.

Any advice on what to look out for greatly appreciated.

Just spotted this.
From what I can tell, apart from all the usual things, it is rust.  If you get an iO from Japan etc. it will probably not be a problem but the Shogun Pinin is noted for rust.  Check the fuel filler pipe which is hidden behind a nicely planned dirt trap.

There are two people on here at the moment who are looking for new front cross members because rust has eaten them away.

So that is something that definitely needs checking.
