|
|
Hi there,
Got a soggy issue! I recently had a new screen fitted on my 2.8 lwb. & all was well, but now every time it rains I get very wet feet (badly). Just had the screen back out and all checked, and all is apparently well, but the floor is still getting soaked...
Is there a common place where these leak from/to that I can look for?
Autoglass reckon it could be that as all the trim was disturbed for the screen - it's broken a natural seal somewhere which could have been masking an old leak....
help - it's not good! |

It is often the drain tubes from the sunroof - they can get blocked and water can't drain away. |

Front and rear corners of sunroof, use something like weed-whacker ( strimmer line) to push down the drain tube so you dont perforate the drain tubes, or dislodge them. IMO I think it,s windscreen related though.
Or...,
If you take out the second battery against the bulkhead , you will see a big rubber grommet that feeds wiring into the interior, check and make sure it,s well seated, they can and do let water into the footwell.
Other problem area is the weather seal around the bottom of both front doors, it gets flattened over time and water escapes past it and soaks the front/rear carpet . A tip I read some time ago was to put a small slit in it so you can introduce some smaller diameter tubing into the hollow section of the door seal which "bulks" it out so as to give the original form back to the door seal. |
