Hello all.
does anyone know the cam specs for our 6g74 mivec engine?
i know the cylinder head shares most parts with the f36 diamante 30m mivec,

i am just chasing the factory cam specs for low and high speed cam.

more specifically the 6a12 mivec has a high cam of 300 degrees, where a 6g75 mivec has a high of only 264 degrees..

i assume the 30m has somewhere in between as it is reviver and makes almost as much power as the 3.5

cheers.

Check out mivec.co.nz

In particular

http://www.mivec.co.nz/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=6760

The 6G75 is mivec by name only.......more of a joke as far as performance goes

interesting.
i will require a set of those if you can source them.
those measurements seem a little large, comparing t5o other mivec engines.

ie a 6a12 has 230 degree low and 300 degree high cams.
if you google the jun cams for a 4g92 they do a 304 degree cam, it is massive. have a look at the cam lobe. do yours look that wide?

At a glance they look pretty much the same.

....why do you need a set?
I DO actually have a spare set.
I'm actually building a 3.5 mivec as well but TT. Use the pistons from a 3.5 24v SOHC from the ozzy Diamante wagon, they're low compression, cost about nothing, use the block too, it's the same block as the evo, the mivec heads fit with the stock length belt. The 3.5 DOHC block won't work as the tensioner is wrong and the oil filter is on the other side.

As far as cams go, official factory specs and actual measured specs will never be identical but should be close.
I would expect the 6G74 Evo Pajero and 30M cams to be the same ........but maybe not?
There's no identifying marks on the cams, unlike the 6G72TT / N/A cams which have letters stamped into the hex part to identify which is which, there's actually several different versions.

yes i would like some to try.
i have tried to get some from Taranaki Partsworld but one was pitted.
they do have a differant part number.
and they need to be pre 97/9 year as after that they went to a smaller diameter, and have the "cam holder" as half the head assembly.
post 97/9:

and pajevo one same as up to 8/97:

Your first diagram is a GDI.

The second one is the mivec.

GDI parts don't work with mivec.
As far as I'm aware, they're all the same. I've got 5 sets in total, only one set spare for parts due to the valves and springs missing and messed up heads, the cams are good though.

If you flick me through an email here

http://www.trademe.co.nz/services/trades/automotive/auction-829952411.htm

That's the easiest way.
I'll see what I can do?
