Good evening,
Does anybody know where I can find the torque settings for a 92 pajero 2.5TD.thought the head gasket had gone but found that the head was cracked, just ground the valves in ready to start rebuilding the head.
Just got to clean the engine block top and get rid of the oil sludge/leak from the sides.
Pics if anybody is interested.lol.

Cheers Martin

Just as important as torque figures is to buy a top quality head gasket, say Mitsubishi. Also critical is the tightening sequence of inside to outside to avoid crimping the gasket.

The head bolts are torqued to 115 - 125 Nm, tightening down progressively.

Ensure all the bolt holes are clean, and no rubbish sits at the bottom of the holes. Apply a very light smear of oil to the bolt threads and the washer to minimise friction.
