just found this post ... i'm fine now!
i went into hospital, supposedly for "upto 24 hours" so they could get me on intravenous antibiotics to get rid of an infection which had got in through a tiny cut on my leg - ended up in there for 10 days!!
anybody who's on my facebook would've seen some of the gory photos, but all ok now, prettymuch ...
now, 5 months later i still have a large area of the back of my leg with less feeling, nerve damage apparently, and the leg is a lot thicker than my other leg and the skin much darker, but apparently people have lost limbs and even died of that particular infection so i count myself lucky!
I also count myself lucky that i have such a supportive mrs who managed to keep things ticking over, web orders sent out, etc (although she wouldn't answer the phone, sorry about that!) while i was in there and convalescing afterwards (which is when the wound really got nasty!) despite having to look after our mental kids and animal menagerie single handed as well as run her own business!
did restore my slightly waning faith in the nhs though... was treated very well - east surrey hospital in redhill. |
