my mates wifes space star has thrown a wobble it started fine got to the shops then would not start,the key turns but no crank battery voltage fine,put a code reader on it came up p0335 which is crank sensor along with rear oxygen sensor code p0421....but surely the crank sensor wouldn,t stop the starter from engaging....cleared the codes and managed to bump start it straight off no bother no fault codes showing yet.. anyone have any idea,s i am thinking ignition switch  Confused

No, the crank sensor won't stop the starter, sounds like a starter issue 2 me....

Try a voltmeter on the small wire to the starter solenoid - if no voltage there when key is turned then either switch or wiring. If there is voltage then starter motor or solenoid.

the starter was changed we tested the signal wire from the ignition to starter and it was fine..put my power probe straight onto the starter connector and nothing...so starter was changed and has been fine for 1 week and started doing the same...i,m now looking at the imobiliser side as they do have problems but someone has fitted a toad alarm in and we are stuggling to work out what they have done...i don,t think they bypassed the original system but added onto it,so we are trying to figure out how to bypass it altogether and rewire the toad so it still has some sort of security...but we need to bypass the original imobiliser first Wink
