Hey Gaz thats another superb job, well done  Cool

I might be blind but cannot see a mention of what primer you used and what finish coat and colour you used, did you finish with Lacquer ?

I have a set of wheels to do so will take inspiration from you... Unless you fancy doing mine for me  Laughing

if your going back to bare alloy i would use an acid etch primer it gives grip for the paint to stay on the wheel at least thats how i do them, and never had no problems, but i have proper spray gear and a compressor so i can get a nice even finish with the paint and laquer... Wink

Cheers Hutchy, i wish I had your workshop to do the job in  Wink

I thought it was an acid etch required so thanks for confirming that... Now the wheels i will be refurbishing are off my Fiat Campervan, so i need to find out what colour silver they are and what type of paint they are... I already cleaned up the inside of one wheel ( the spare, which was really bad) and coated just the inside with silver Smoothrite which reacted with the remaining small patches of original paint, if that gives any clues  Confused
Any help would be appreciated as always

Cheers Hutchy.   Wink

My research has pointed me to Silver Sparkle acrylic aerosol and U-pol acid etch #8 primer.

Silver sparkle sounds more like bloody nail varnish but apparently its standard oem alloy wheel silver

This thread has inspired me to have a go of mine instead of paying for a wheel refurb.

What colour silver is this? I've stripped one of mine and I love that colour.
