Hi,hope some one can help, sidelights work including dim main beam,but normal headlights or full beams wont work ,any ideas,many thanks

If it's not the fuses then maybe a faulty switch.

ive checked the fuses and put new headlight bulbs in,the relay behind the drivers speaker is clicking, ive got no knowledge of car electrics,just wish I could sort it out without going to a garage,sort of a little victory for me

If that is a mk 2 there is a separate relay for the lights in the engine compartment in the black box next to  the battery nearest the front of the vehicle as well as some separate fuses in there too. I can let  you know later today  which one is which if you need me  to.
