Checked it last week,
Doing 27 mpg that's including small runs like towns, shopping, etc.
No big tyres on, which make a different.
Roofrack is on with lights, even I know without I would get better mpg. |

But if you are on standard wheels/tyres you will not have done a true 132 miles as the speedo and odometer read about 7-8% high so you will have done around 24.9 mpg... Still happy ?

1999 2.5D challenger manual. Just got back from another trip to the pyrenees and cruising at 60 on the motorways gave me 32mpg. Cruising at 70 gave me 29mpg.
I normally get 450 miles to a tank of fuel running around locally.
For a 4x4 I think they are good on fuel compared to the frontera or disco that I have had |

Hello,
I hava a 1999 2,5 TD and consistently get 28 mpg around town, low speed motorway driving, etc.
I always drive this truck conservatively as IMHO must be done, respecting the true nature of the vehicle
I'm very happy the SportWagon and intend to keep it for many years.
Cheers

I get the feeling the older 4M40 2.8 TDi engine is a bit thirstier than the 2.5? A lot of my mileage is about town and short journey's but I seem to be getting roughly 19 to the gallon. Mine has 31" tyres on and the speedo reads pretty much bang on with GPS speeds. I need to tighten up the bearings and regrease them (and everything else under there) which might give me the odd extra mile per gallon. |

Same as mine - and same sort of short journeys - 19-20 is about all you'll get. |

I have owned and been running my 2005 Pajero Sport for one month now (driven 2,500 kilometres) and am getting 33mpg. I must say though that driving conditions here in Finland are very different from UK. Nowhere near as much traffic ( stopping/starting/traffic lights etc) and I spend most of my time in 5th gear! |
