Power steering fluid in alternator.
it makes grit stick which makes a grinding paste.

there is 2 nuts on each turbo manifold stud to stop it rusting and poss coming loose.

as for stripped thread.
are you sure this is not just a cheap head off ebay all ready fitted.
Þhey just dont last.
you can get aftermarket head skimked and just fit another head gasket.
as for thread gone im past your way often, I can lend you a kit to put a new thread insert in if you want.

You're having a bit of a bad run lately boxmaker  Shocked  Rolling Eyes

The long bolt on my 4M40 thermostat housing stripped a few years ago so I re-tapped the casting and fitted a long stainless caphead bolt that I already had. I think ? the original was M8 but I used an M10 to replace it. Much easier to remove and refit though using a wobble knuckle and 3/8" ratchet with an extension and allen fitting. No probs since  Very Happy

You dont want to be using stainless in it.
that will pick up on the threads.
buy a standard allen cap or bolt.
if your ever stuck for bolts near you boxmaker I often use a company called all bolts.
he not to far from you.

I cant remember what the head bolt washer looks like but your more than welcome to pop over to my workshop and match another up.
I have tons of broken engines at workshop.

Bring your old washer.
I have no 2.8s but plenty of 2.5 and many othèr makes.
