Hello everybody out there wondering about lift. I came across a web site called REXBO.EU. This site offers parts for all makes and models.
The best bit is they give dimensions of coil springs. I have a 2001 Pajero Sport and have put two sets of standard fit coils in since 2010.
To make it worse, another one broke today. I have been told it is happening because I put a lot of weight in one day and nothing the next.
Anyway, I'm fed up of it now so hopefully I will fix the problem once and for all.
I have come to the conclusion that there appears to be loads of room around the outside of the coil, therefore I can put in a thicker coil.
The standard coil measures 13.5mm in thickness, I'm looking at 18mm thickness. As far as i can make out, it is the inside measurement that
is important. I stand to be corrected on that though. I am also going for lift which has a lot of unanswered questions.
Here is the theory I've come up with, with the help of REXBO.EU.

Pajero Sport coil dimensions:
Outside Diameter: 173mm. Height: 410mm. Thickness 13.5mm. Inside Diameter: 146mm.

Nissan Patrol GR I (Y60, GR) 2.8 TD (Y60A) coil spring dimensions:
Outside diameter: 182mm. Height: 455mm. Thickness 18mm. Inside Diameter 146mm

The inside diameter is the key. That sorts out the diameter.

Height is a different matter. The dimensions above are showing only a 45mm difference (1 7/8" approx) but because there is a lot more give in
the pajero springs, the difference can be as much as 90mm (3 1/2" approx)
Another problem people have is putting Y60 coil springs of off a 5 door nissan patrol. this can drive a pajero to the clouds  Very Happy
To summarize, Stick to the Nissan Patrol GR I (Y60, GR) 2.8 TD (Y60A) 3 door coil springs and you won't go to far wrong or to the clouds. Very Happy

Hope this helps everyone worried about lift and you can correct me if I'm wrong on anything, after all, I'm just a fool that learns the hard way. Very Happy
