Nice job, and quick too.
A few questions, could you fit the original radiator still in there? You got the wiring done dam quick, anyone I have seen do one it takes them ages, is that an area of expertise? And finally, have you got the dash all working as factory with rev counter etc?
Im guessing that there are a few jealous readers here! |

Yes I'm still running the original radiator. There's actually plenty of room, the engine fits nicely. I wouldn't call myself an 'expert' but I've been playing with cars for years so have built up some pretty good knowledge. Besides, I had a full uncut engine loom and ECU, so the wiring was actually fairly simple. Most of the factory dash is still working, unfortunately I couldn't get the rev counter to do anything other than twitch, so I'm going to have to put an aftermarket one somewhere.
The fact that it's my daily driver has spurred me on to get it done quickly, I guess most people who do this kind of thing just put a few hours in here and there, but I've been on it fairly constantly when I haven't been at work. |

It goes pretty well for a big old beast too. Butter smooth and a nice wide power band |

Don't mean to be "buzz killington" but what did the insurance company say about the 'upgrade'? |

I've not changed it over yet, I'm currently with Admiral but they don't seem to be very mod friendly, my renewal is due soon so I'll get few quotes then. |

I've changed it on the v5, but I'm still waiting for it to come back, then I can get it MOT'd (I've only been driving it briefly, it's coming off the road until I get that back) and sort the insurance. |

My first reply was about the insurance, I haven't changed that as it's due for renewal. So when I get the v5 back I'll get it. MOT'd, change the insurance over and get it back on the road. |

Just out of interest what sort of percentage increase in performance does it have compared to the original. Back in the day, if you dropped a 'demon' engine in your Escort the "man with a clipboard" would want to see appropriate improvement in brakes and suspension |

It's certainly quicker, but not so much that it's going to need brake upgrades etc. Peak torque is actually similar to the 3.2, but over a much wider rev range.
I ever supercharge it I'll have to rethink that though |

I'm not an expert but I think they'll focus on horsepower |
