just gone to replace a split heater hose in the back of beyond on my engine to discover that the metal pipe it fits on down the back of engine is just about corroded away so nothing to fit new hose to.
the question being can I get to this metal pipework from under the vehicle or is it an engine out job to repair/ replace it?

If it's anything like the 3.0l you will have to start stripping the inlet manifold off the top end and keep stripping till you can see the offending pipe.

Yeah sort of looks that way, can see it and get hose on it just not enough of it for jubilee clip to tighten without pulling hose off, need to remove the whole piece to either repair or replace. Looks like its lump out then, Might as well do my LPG conversion at same time , cheers for the reply Very Happy

I can tell ya, them hoses down the back can cause a whole lot a pain.. There's enough joints down there even before you plumb your vaporizer in. Good luck.       Fellow landy lover.

going for T pieces where pipes go into heater matrix to run vaporisor hoses from, to be honest that looks the easy bit compared to removing manifold to drill and tap for injectors and get to injector wiring. Out of interest where did you locate your ECU for LPG system?

It's top right of bulkhead, ie passenger side. Very close to bonnet hinge.

yeah i was thinking there, but as my air con is defunct and I have removed all the under bonnet bits apart from cooling fan ( good back up in summer as V6 do get warm) I was thinking of taking rest of it out from under the dash and putting ECU in there all nice dry and warm like!!, Vaporiser I take it you have put up next to battery, as it seems logical place to run heater hose to it.
