Hey guys n gals been a while
My Pajero has had a issue which only seems to be getting worse despite no evidence of any issue to be found.
Basically when I go to pull away in 1st Or reverse in to my driveway or around a corner the truck judders like mad
I should quote I have started to drive away in 2nd at late because I am getting very pissed off.
Like I say any other gear 2,3,4,5 is fine just 1st and reverse.
If I rev the truck like crazy it doesn't happen but that sort of thing is not any good for real world driving.
I have had it in the garage(s) and no faults can be found.
just to quote it Is the 2.8 4M40 with the Manual SS4 gear box and the setting is 2WD
Very stuck on what could be causing this but I am beginning to guess the issue is inside the gearbox oppose to the clutch etc
Any ideas before I go speak to a transmission specialist? |

I'd suggest the cause is either within the clutch, or engine / gearbox mountings.
I can't visualize a gearbox issue creating this judder. |

It sounds like oil contaminating the clutch plate - I've had similar symptoms many years ago on a couple of cars. |

Blitzy I had this with a customer.
He went to several garages.
I suspected what pete said.
contaminated clutch.
I was amazed to find this old shogun had a dual mass flywheel.
that was the problem.
im just trying to remember if it was a 2.5 or 2.8.
I really cant remember.
Struggle to remember what I had for breakfast some days. |
