Yeah no sh17.
you aint getting 38+ mpg I couldnt care less what your claiming.
like I said my own car thats diesel cant even do that.
so until my own car can do that plus my pajero which is edc and the later 4d56 thats common rail then I believe it.
ok heres a better 1 for you.
maybe this fits it a bit better pmsl.
ok I have 2 business, 1 side plant machinery.
I go everywhere.
When at exeter the company gives me a car to use.
its a electric toyota prius.
I have a 11 mile drive back to the hotel.
on way to hotel I get fantastic numbers.
its all down hill.
Thats the only way you ever gonna get 38mpg.
fact.
You got to understand that mitsy latest 2.5 engine is common rail which is way more economical than yours and that get these numbers so please tell me, how the hell do you expect me to believe you get 38+ mpg.
I personally feel you worked it wrong and wont back down.
I bet your speedo reads in km like I said, you worked it out like that but dont want to be wrong.
ive fitted l200 gearboxes into shoguns and vice versa, it does nothing for your economy niether your speedo. |

MPG and pence per mile or pence per litre are different measurements. If cheaper or alternative fuels were used that would not massively affect MPG, which is fuel used over distance. But it would affect pence per mile if 'red' or another cheap fuel was used.
I prefer to use pence per mile when calculating my vehicles fuel costs. Mrs Whites diesel sharan does us about 10p a mile, depending on how she drives, which is around 50-53 mpg. But as pump diesel price is fluctuating it's difficult to fix the figure.
I haven't worked out the truck yet, still calculating... But I can tell you it's roughly twice the cost. Something like 25mpg but it feels like more.
38 would be great wouldn't it? World peace too |

Scarecrow monday I was thinking about what you said.
ok I had a customer to pick up from heathrow air port.
I tried my best in my car to get the best mpg, was always 35 mpg on motorway, I got peed of and sat at 88mph rest of the way.
normally I set cruise to 80mph
any way I managed to notice that when I got to air port my car said 37.1mpg.
ive never seen this in my life.
got back and said to wife in your face heres a pic 37.1 mpg.
long story, our bmw I can get 40mpg its petrol, she cant lol.
so on our audi she always say shes the best driver lol on mpg.
she now claiming oh thats because aircon off.
no it wasn't but monday was non stop rain and cold.
that made me think about you.
If I could always get 37 mpg id be chuffed.
a guy at my back up support place for my diagnostics keeps asking me to get my ecu re mapped.
he said 250 and my car will always be over 40mpg and just over 300bhp with over a 1000nm of torque.
he reckons as im under a 1000nm of torque thats why im on 35 mpg.
be interesting if any body else knows the ins and outs of this.
my car is a audi a6 quattro 3.0 v6 tdi.
ive never thought about it as its got plenty of balls, at 2000rpm your pinned in your seat and 3000rpm well your not grabbing nothing of the dash board thats for sure.
normal driving its always 1500rpm. |

|
|
Hi there,
I removed my EGR Valve and cleaned it yesterday and fitted it back on to the engine. After hooking back all the pipes and other stuff, I started up the engine and when I rev it up I can hear a chuffing sound. Can someone please assist and advise me on what would be causing this sound?
Thanks and I await any great responses that can help me.

Sound's like the gasket between the EGR valve and manifold is goosed ? did you fit a new gasket or just used the original one ? |

Chuffing sound is a bit ambiguous I know but beware of the Chuff Chuff of a failing camchain
Has it just started or is it possible you are just now noticing it?
If you are unsure, get someone who knows what they are listening for to give their opinion. Hopefully its not that and just the chuff of an air leak, but I could not let the possibility go unmentioned ( my camchain snapped and wrecked my engine... )
