Ill get that sorted when get home on the PC, will come very handy.

Another question.........

I've had the box nearly lined out for abit, I couldn't get it moved any closer to engine on my own.. So I used a couple bolts to pull them together and it slid onto the dowels no problem.. This should be ok right? Hoping the centre part of the torque converter and fly wheeled joined properly..

I've only changed manual boxes - but I've pulled them together with the bolts.

The official workshop manual will help you a lot, It makes everything sound more complicated than it is when you first read it, but there is a step by step guide for pretty much everything, usually specifying the torque settings so you can't really go wrong.

Pulling it together with the bolts is no problem, just use a few bolts; Don't pull the whole box in with one bolt as it could snap.

Make your life easier with the torque converter bolts by removing the timing chain tensioner. That way you can rotate the engine in both directions without worry of causing damage to the timing chain.

To late mate for the tensioner, hope it will be ok.. You said before just refit the tensioner and it should be ok?

I cant open the manual at the moment, if you guys don't mind.. Any chance you can help with the two ATF pipes, can remember what hose connects to what pipe lol

Not a lot left to do, I just hope I've done everything ok and have no realy problems

Yes just remove and refit the tensioner you wont have any issue. Don't know if you have done one before, its spring loaded, you compress the tensioner, then hold it back with the little hook on the side while you re-fit. Its supposed to release itself when the engine starts but I prefer to give the back plate a firm tap with a hammer once it bolted in, you will hear it release.

Got it running then I heard oil pissing out, thought it was ATF.. Turns out it was the tensioner gasket, I robed the one from shogun, but I'll need to get a new one ...

The good news is it *beeb* drives!!!!! Happy days, I'll need to tidy a few things before I can take it a proper run..

Big thanks to pete, rob and podge.. It might take me and mrs up north for honeymoon yet

It's very satisfying when you mend something that is so complicated - congratulations!!

And you have saved yourself approximately £500 in labour charges  Very Happy

If you pump it out through the cooler pipes you will not get it all out - I get about 5L out.

I always buy 2x5L of ATF and it lets me change it twice - I do a change and leave it a day or two then change it again.

With a new box it might be totally empty though.

He definitely has all the oil out of the gearbox anyway. The evidence is in my trailer and all over the garage floor.  Laughing Good to hear you managed.
