T Bar shifter change?

Odd one, I have an auto [98 3.0v6 Shogun] and I really don't get on with the T-bar shifters [it's a phobia since an earlier Mondeo] and would like to swap to the later straight type.

Anyone done this? Is there a model that's a [fairly] straight swap? I have checked the Pinin auto lever as well as the later DiD model and they appear to fit as far as I can tell from a photograph.

I might whip the shifter off this weekend for a deep clean and will have a closer look but some early advice would be appreciated Smile

The facelift ones with the tiptronic boxes have a shifter with a button on the top too if it is any help
