Bet it be written before but here I go anyway.
Had to  change my rear shocks for my mot and yet again the only thing that slowed me down was seized bolts
Start by putting plenty of penetration fluid on every nut and bolt prior to doing this job.
Unbolt the electric motor located on top of the shock absorber , 2 x 8mm bolts , remove motor and unbolt top of shock 2 x 17mm nuts.

Then down to the bottom nut and bolt which on mine was seized solid so needed to be cut off with an angle grinder.
Easy enough job and replacing is a simple reversal of how you take them off ( apart from the need of an angle grinder)

Tried uploading pics but will need to resize them as to big so photos to follow ....
On a scale of 1-10 this is a 3 as in hardness of job.

It is the motor to adjust the adjustable shock absorber.

I assume this is non standard as I was planning to fit my new gas absorbers next week.
