so apart from the common rust issue in there i think i have hit another off road issue.

now this is unconfirmed so im seeking advice.

im not convinced the off set of modular wheels and 265 75 16 will fit in there and have the swinger closed. I dont have a handbook so not sure if it is stated in there what size is the max it will take.

there is only going to be one answer, take one off and see if it fits. there is a bit of room around a standard wheel but may have to go for a 245 or 205 for the spare. the one i had was on the stock alloy but didn't have the same profile as the STT and i sold them as a set of 5 (without thinking) cause it would give me chance to sort out the metal work in there but now looking to get a replacement that will work with my current tyre set up if i need to call on it, so needs to sit with the 265 75 16 on the truck but maybe not as wide as its just to get me home if needed.

the holder cant be removed cause the door skin is shaped for it unless i go for the expensive route of trying to see if a mk3 door will fit (bit extreme).

so is there a max size stated any where that it will take??

what is a better slimer tyre size that may work

Mine has a 265/70-16 spare, this is the OEM one.  Don't know how much bigger a 265/75 is.
