he is certainly old school is rick
I often wonder how many pajeros or l200's etc etc he has saved over the years
We often talked tools, snap on and alike and he told me about his roll cab he had when working at biffa. He was the snap on king with a HUGE box, with more on top and on top of that. He guessed at £80k + back in the day of tools..............well snap on prices thats a 1/4" socket set and a spanner |

I didn't realise he was ill, I only texted him last week asking for him to change my starter motor. That now explains why I got no reply.
He did an engine swap for me back in February after I had destroyed the big end. He came with the trailer and loaded up, then he came to pick me up from my house a week or so later, once the swap was completed. Job well done, but he did text me the same night to say that he forgot to connect the windscreen washer pipe back up. Job well done, but not a total God
Get well soon bud. |

Rick is a top guy, had him come and do my pump seal in June 2014. It is one he will probably never forget because out of all the pump seals he has done mine was the first he forgot to tighten the nut after putting the new pump seal in so I only got about half a mile down the road before it cut out.
Rick was already a good 2 hours into his journey home and turned around and came all the way back and had to take my fuel pump out for the second time in a day.
Taking my fuel pump out the first time at home:
Then taking it out for the second time in the same day at the side of the road where it cut out:

I had wondered why Rick hadn't posted lately and the reason is now too apparent. I have a great deal of respect for Rick and his knowledge although I've never met him apart from on the forum. I sincerely hope Rick recovers soon so wish him all the best from me. Thanks for the heads up Venn. |
