Are you using a specialist import insurer?
I've never had that problem and mine is an auto.
Try Adrian Flux or Lifesure. |

I recently acquired a Jap import Pajero 2.8 LWB auto (manufactured 2000 - imported 2004). I've been insured for about 8 years with two Shoguns (2.8 LWB manuals) using Swiftcover (AXA) When I tried to swap the insurance from Shogun to Pajero, Swiftcover refused to insure it. After a couple of calls I eventually got told that as a Pajero is a "pickup truck", they wouldn't insure it. FFS!! No amount of reasoning would change that. I ended up using a couple of Meerkats to get the best quote, which was with LV ........ but when I when through to their site to confirm the deal, their system only offered a manual and not auto. When I challenged them, they did accept it with an additional premium of £80. |
