Sorry, you did say main beam in your first post. The standard main bulb is an H9 which is already a high performance 65w version of the H11, I seem to remember Philips offering an upgraded bulb but they are showing as NLA. This is the reply to an enquiry to Osram about an H9 upgrade:
The H9 was designed from the beginning as a high output bulb and there
is little opportunity for a premium version. For this reason there are
no plans at the moment to add it to our Nightbreaker range.
I am sorry that we cannot help on this occasion, but thank you for your
interest. |

Word of warning!!! I fitted 130 /80 rally bulbs to my MK3 ended up melting the entire headlamp wiring looms. Go for additional lights rather than overloading the wiring harness's. |

Anything 100W or over needs extra relays fitting - and ceramic bulb holders. |

Yes correct, the plastic type bulb holders is where the shorts start. Funny thing is none of the fuses blow! |

I learnt the had way a few years ago when I fitted 100W bulbs - the plastic bulb holders melted as the bulbs get very hot. |

Do you know of a better light option than the standard lights on MKII and MKIII models, our road safety clown have just introduced a BAN on fitting spotlights to all vehicles. Standard Mitsu lights are pretty weak so now I need to find better options hopefully can find something with built in spotlights. Extreme lighting essential to our dangerous
roads! |

Hi
Anyone tried any of the many LED based H9 bulbs in their high beam?
I was also considering some LED H11's for my front fog lights as well
if they weren't such a pain to fit.
Thanks |
