|
|
Hi! Just bought a fantastic 1995 LWB 2.8 Pajero and I am stripping it down now, to clean all the interior and get rid of bits of body and underbody rust etc. Basically I want to make it look fabulous haha I'm planning on having it serviced to see what needs to be done to make sure it will run as good as it looks. But after next payday
I drove it only once but I noticed that it accelerate very very slowly. I mean it's like driving a bus. Overtaking virtually not possible, I think My question is: is it always that way or is there something wrong with it. I understand that this car is not made to be fast but it really seemed to be sluggish comparing to average Vauxhall
Cheers! |

It's a two ton lump with the aerodynamics of a barn, and an old style diesel engine - so don't expect it to accelerate like a normal car.
If you get a 0-60 mph time of 15 - 20 seconds then you are doing well.
I did once overtake an old lady on a pushbike though
Some performance figures HERE |

Have you checked to ensure that your brakes are all ok and none of them ( including the handbrake) are binding? That would not help performance eh?

Fair point, well made.. I forgot we are talking about Pajero's
My 0-60 is measured with a sundial and was once described as " Glacial"

Jet washing is a bit drastic way don't you think? i took them out and put them in my lounge. Cleaned all the mess underneath and the mechanism. Steamed it, sprayed with autoglym interior and wet brushed it. Wiped down with wet cloth and dry one afterwards. It's much better now. Still stinks slightly if you smell it very closely. I'm going to buy dog odour killer thing and spray it. Spray it A LOT same goes for carpets (apart from taking them inside of my house)
I just can't figure out how to take middle couch out. Took some bolts out but still wouldn't move. |

I actually thought of that before but was afraid that if i soak it through it might not dry properly and that would make it even worse... |
