Hi, I recently changed from an L200 to a Shogun sport 2.5TD. it drives well around town but when you hit a motorway around 3000 rpm it feels a little held back. Ive blanked off the EGR valve  and installed a De-cat pipe as well as a K&N air filter and still the same. Ive read quite a bit about over boost on this forum and last week put a boost gauge on and the turbo was producing 20psi. can anyone help as I have had very little experience with turbo's and the adjustment or can anyone recommend a specialist in the south essex area where I can take it. Cheers Gents.

as far as i am aware the turbo,s on them are variable vane,so you need to be vary careful when fiddling about with them, but one thing you could try and this is what the vw boys do is remove the turbo and clean it out with mr muscle oven cleaner,my mate does his every year and takes him a weekend to do it,thats removing it putting it in a container and spraying a full tin of the stuff in and then he leaves it to soak in overnight, then blasts it through with compressed air...i thought he was nuts for doing it because to be fair i expected it to damage the seals inside but he reckons it,s fine Wink

Fit the power upgrade to it. Mine did the exact same at 3000rpm in every gear. Fitted the unit into the ecu cost me £175 and pulls very strong now right through the Rev range.

A guy called Tim Massey on the Shogun Sport / Pajero owners club page on Facebook. They do pop up on eBay for under £250 also.

Power upgrade all the way it's the only thing that will sort it. Mine choked at 3k in every gear felt like it was being choked or losing turbo pressure. I did all sorts even gave it a full service and new boost solenoid and tried adjusting the turbo actuators and it did nothing. The power upgrade was the only thing that fixed the issue and had done on many trucks as its a common problem what you have. As above £175 and 10 mins to fit plugs directly into the Ecu with instant results. Check the shogun sport/ Pajero sport Facebook page they pop up on there for the £175 and a little dearer on eBay.
