I have read about the rear cam bolt nightmare on this and other forums.
so i was dreading the job of replacing them.

however they had to be done so here goes ,how a smoggy did them.

1st I jacked the car up and fitted spring compressors to the rear spring.
then i tried to heat the bolts up with a welding torch not much success there.

so a 5" (7" would be better)grinder with a 1mm cutting disc fitted. 5mins and the cam bolts were off.
I had a jack under the spring just encase.( not needed only dropped 2")

The outer bolt came off with heat also the shocker bolt.45min and the lot was on the floor.
now the bushes welding torch to melt the rubber leaving the steel bush.
set the welding torch to quite high and melted the bush  at the outer edge.
tapped a small screwdriver between the the two . keep the heat on and tapping the driver
between the two. 10 min they are off. ( both inner and outer)

to replace, I pushed half the Polly bush into the carrier pushed the inner sleeve into the other by
about 10mmput them in a vice and squeezed them together ( with nickle ease on)

The one still on the car the same but i had to use a G clamp.
I put the outer bolt in 1st.Then the shocker bolt and left them loose.

Coil spring in position and used a hydraulic jack to lift it up into position.
I had a bit of a carry on to locate the cam bolt , because i convinced myself they were shorter then the originals.

after that it was bolting up and camber setting.

the time it took to do one side was 2hrs and 10 mins.(and i had a cup of tea to let it cool down.

so don't be afraid to tackle this job its not a big job if you go smoggy style.

hope the helps somebody.

i have pics but i cannot load them as they are to big, but i think i can e-mail them if required.

regards

A Smoggy

Info on how to post photos is HERE

I think that you need to have done about 10 posts before the forum lets you post them.
