Last Year, we helped organise the Jap4x4 part of JAE - Japanese Auto Extravaganza  http://www.japcarclub.org/

and we are going again on 8 - 11 September 2016  - it is at Newark Showground - just off the A1 at NG24 2NY

Basically, it is a big social meet of car clubs for Jap cars - the clubs have a stand, show their vehicles, and socialise.

There are trade stands and entertainments and there are various  inter-club fun events as below :

The activities range from Show n Shine to Bungee Run, Its-a-Knockout and Tug of War.

Then there is  a pub quiz, kamikaze wings and Japanese food eating! All rounded off with a fantastic firework display on Saturday night.

The 4wd track is included for us in Jap4x4 vehicles, for us to use unlimited for all 4 days

there are a load of pics from last year here https://www.facebook.com/groups/aJap4x4/photos/ - and a FB group to join to keep up to date etc

It is newbie friendly, and also has some "technical" sections more suited to experienced people.

There is camping and entertainment on site, so it is literally a case of us turning up, and taking part
Costs to come and to buy tickets to JAE are as here http://www.japcarclub.org/index.php/what-is-jae/entry-prices - basically, £45 a person, for 4 days, including camping, ents etc

There are showers and Toilets on site

You can bring caravans - we will have electric hook up on site, which is set up mainly for a group club to use, but, we can share the cost of one, if folks bring their own leads / splitters etc and everyone doesn't use their kettles/hairdryers at the same time! - extra cost will be approx £10 a hook up or, basically splitting the overall cost  £192

This is a good meet, with a lot of the infrastructure provided without a few of us having to sort this, and a chance for folks to have a go at offroad - even if they haven't before, with guidance from others, more experienced.

On- track recovery and marshalling is assisted by West Yorkshire 4x4 Volunteers

The Event for us is a good place to have a laugh, meet up, get offroad or show off your shiny etc - we are sited in the main show area, in a prime spot -

We can add to it all, with our own BBQ's etc etc

if anyone has access to a JCB / digger - we can "amend the track" beforehand and/or during the event    Laughing - last year we went and did a bit

We're right in the middle next to the show arena this time then, ace 👍

For anyone considering it, it's well worth the money. I've been doing JAE for years, and it's always a great weekend with an absolutely brilliant atmosphere. The sheer variety or cars and clubs on display is pretty unique, and people are always friendly and fun.

Can't wait to do it again this year 👍

he went round the track -  quite a bit of it is suitable for 4wd cars - ie not too many big holes / lumps - just a case of keeping traction/momentum ...  fair game to the guy - he was the only car that tried it Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

Great to see this having just bought me a Shogun Smile

And I'm really chuffed to see the first photo in the thread is of the club I run, S2KUK for Honda S2000s Smile

I'm toying with the idea of bringing both cars this year! Very Happy
