|
|
Hi Everyone - hoping someone can help. OH can't find pajero key (Mitsubishi Mk2), immobiliser is on and the 2nd key fob is broken - It looks like the battery has fallen out (if it has a battery ?). Can anyone help with a workaround (can we attach wires to another type of battery - what voltage etc) just to get the immobiliser off ? Would really appreciate some help with this.

Measure the distance between the battery terminals - if it is about 30mm then the battery will probably be an A27 (12V).
I think I have seen them for sale in Asda. |

If it is an A27 then you could connect it with wires to the car battery as that is 12V.
... do it at your own risk though, do not blame me if it goes "pop".
Just make sure you connect the battery the correct way round (the spring is usually negative) |

Thanks v much Pete - It looks like the gap matches the A27 so I'll get one and give that a go (bit nervy about attaching it to the car battery). |

I have just got a pack of 10 A27 batteries for my fob which is a different fob to yours. Many fobs use the A27.
I bought
THESE
12V is 12V no matter what battery supplies it. |

By the way - I never use the original fobs because they break.
I buy ones that can be used to learn the code from the original - like THESE
They are cheap and work well - put them into learning mode and then press the buttons on the original and the replacement.
My alarm is an aftermarket one and I have used the original remotes once to clone the new fobs.
All you have to do is look on the metal can on your original to check it works on 433.92MHz (it is stamped on it) - if it does then the clones will work

Thanks Pete - that looks like a great idea (I hadn't realised you could buy these). I think the fobs are as old as the pajero so if we find the other one it's days are most probably numbered. |
