I had to do a trip that was not planned in my 3.0 shogun sport ,it has 16" cooper STTs on and 90%of the trip was dual carriageway or motorway, and speeds stayed between 65-70 mph.......how far did I get ??????????

A bloody good guess!!!!  So I wonder what that is to a gallon at £1.05 a litre ???? Anyone????

....well 100 quid divided by £1.05 is 95.2 litres which equates to just over 17 mpg...over 351 mies

17mpg Shocked  Laughing

When I bought my V6 I drove it 300 miles home up the motorway and worked it out to 22mpg. I mainly drive like a granny but my wife did the last 100 miles and she's more heavy-footed.

I've done some more long trips since and I don't notice much difference between the V6 and my old 2.5td Pajero.

been offered a 98 plate flared arch 3.0 v6..3 owners from new for mine..what u reckon peeps...advantages and disavantages please.... Smile

I've had 2.5, 2.8 and V6 over the years and the 2.8 was best on fuel. Overall I would go with overall condition of the truck ahead of engine choice as there are pros and cons of each.
