Hi been looking at doing a bit of greenlaning and was looking for an os map I found one for my iPad at a cost of £11.99 I wasn't happy with paying that so spent a few day on google and found it for free on bling maps http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?encType=1&where1=United+Kingdom&cp=54.070999~-2.783999&FORM=MIRE1

Click on the drop box ROAD and go so OS. You can also choose satellite view. been past a few lanes today on the way to work and are clearly sign posted as byways

Hope this is of help to someone  Very Happy

Some useful pages:

Where's the path? - has side by side OS and aerial photo, or various other maps. But the really useful thing is that you when you move the mouse pointer over one side, a cursor moves on the other. So if you follow a track on the aerial photo, you can follow it on the OS map too.

Trailwise maps - for checking the right of way status of tracks. It's not the definitive map, but it's a good starting point to see what green lanes are in an area. If you're a member of GLASS or LARA you get a lot more information returned.

I always look at and use this one. It's called byway maps. I believe it's updated weekly.

Hmm, it's a bit sparse that one - only one of the 40 or so green lanes I know of in my area is marked, and that's only a short 1km section at that.

I guess it relies on contributions and there's nobody in the North/East Yorkshire are contributing!

OS maps are also available free from OS under the Open Source Data agreement.

Am I right in thinking that every green line on here I can drive down? It won't be a restricted byway or anything like that
