Shogun 3.2DID on a 55 plate, starts from cold ok, then when hot cranks over a few times to slow for my liking before starting, goes ver well, had the battery tested and it failed so replaced with another one, actually tested a few times on and off the car and it failed the proper garage test ever time.

Car still starts every time from cold but still it cranks over sluggish when hot but always starts and ask said goes we well.

I am going to order a new starter motor but has anybody experienced this before and if so any clues? Oh I have cleaned the Earth on the body but to get to the engine one is a pain, hence the new starter motor.

Thanks
Alan

I think you are probably correct - there has been a few people on here with starter motors slowing down when hot.

Ordered a new starter motor today, will advise if it's a success or not after fitting, spoke to a good mechanic and he said let him have the old one and he will rebuild it with "bits" inside, then I might be able to sell it cheap to someone else to try or keep it as another spare, can't se me wanting another one but as I said will advise when new one fitted.

Fitted new starter motor this afternoon in just under an hour, solved all the starting sluggish issues, whips it over a treat and starts immediately.

Purchased from "The Starter Motor and Alternator company" in Plymouth with whom I have dealt with before and who my local independent garage deal with as well, recommended. £125 inc vat and postage.

Happy bunny now.
