Hi there, mine does exactly the same (22 Mpg). I too was wondering why it is so low for a 1.1 litre engine. Can anyone shed some light on this?

How did you work out how many gallons you use? How large is the fuel tank in the engine?
Edit: 35 L or 9.25 Gallons

I've been getting about 25 or 26mpg

Edit again:

Check your tyre pressure, it should be 1.8kgf/cm2 or 25.6psi. Using the heater / AC will eat your fuel. City driving will use up lots of fuel for little distance (god bless rush hour!). How old is your oil? Your oil can NEVER be too new and should be replaced every few months.

I have installed CNG kit in my Pajero jr
It has doubled my mileage in terms of cost per km

Previously it was  PkRs 8/km now it is PkRs 4/Km in city

or 10 cents/km to 5 cents/km
you can convert in UK pounds

Petrol is 64 Rs/Litre
or 80 cents/litre

Correct tyre pressure/ Oil change/ Clean Air filter are important but I think the real problem lies in correct chip tuning

My other car Corolla Xli 2003 is also CNG converted
gives great mileage for a 1300 cc engine car
Rs 3/km on CNG and Rs 6/km on petrol in city

that is 25%  more mpg than Pajero Jr

Dear munim.

The diagnostic socket to be at the left foot of the driver on the panel. I do not use the scanner.
It is possible to consider codes of errors by a blinking of display lamp CHECK - for this purpose it is necessary to close contact piece on a socket with the case.

Visit the Russian forum which member I am. There, practically, there are answers to all questions on Pajero Junior.

I made a post on the scanner in this forum some time ago.
Briefly I found as far as the Junior is concerned - forget it ( unless you can afford a thousand pounds or so for a proffessional garage diagnostics consul.)
Yes the Junior has a socket - yes it is in the right place - yes it is correctly wired to the ISO standard - no it does not work.As with everything on this car nothing applies. The software for the Junior diagnostics is not standard so will not be read by a scanner.
I know, I bought one from the auction site (£50) just to test the theory.
I then rang the maker of the scanner, very nice people, who told me it will not work with a Pajero Junior (for the reasons I have already explained)
In short if you have an engine management fault ie the light stays on on the instrument console, you are on your own unless you can find a Mitsubishi dealer with the required computer program. I think that highly unlikely.
I have had one fault which as it happens is not covered by the scanner system anyway and that was the stepper motor causing idle problems. If anyone has similar contact me as I have spent many happy hours researching and fixing. (only £300 plus to fix on a Junior for a tiny item)
A nice motor completely ruined by lack of support and information, the big Pajeros were officially imported to the UK & other places with the Shogun name & so a network sprang up but not so the Junior. I had to import a towbar for example to Malta manufactured by a specialist in UK because (for the above reasons) people like Witter do not make them) You can get them for 2000 on but that is not Junior which finished in 1998/9.
I get some parts via Mitsubish but it always takes 9 weeks.

The owner manual states between 13-14 km/L of fuel.

As I said in a previous post (you will have to search for it) that I changed the viscous fan for an electric one and got an immediate improvement.

Losing a lead foot will help too. Too much breaking in town will lower fuel efficiency and going over 55mph on motorways doesn't help as you go over the ideal torque. On motorways I sit in behind trucks and leave them to move the air for me.
