So a member did a refit a while back using the stock bushing and a larger metal insert. I replied to it in the Evo mods forum, but it's an older thread like many here...

I'm wondering if I have other options, besides a long wait and $500 CAD plus shipping for a whole new arm?

Has anyone tried burning out the old bushing and retrofitting an energy susp universal polyurethane bushing set instead?

Phil i had new poly bushes cast into the arms about 60 000km ago. They are still holding out just fine.

Seems like a good plan really. Not tackled it myself yet but I believe the hardest bit is getting the damn arms off. I know someone that spent 2 solid days a side getting them off.

These bushings makes one of the owners Pajero Evo. Although the manufacturing process involves more people: 1 turner, 2 - a man who is engaged in polyurethane and 3 - our teammate, owner Paj Evo.

Polituretan - Shore hardness 83 +/- 2
steel inner sleeve 45
Polyamide (caprolon) with graphite (modified graphite), grade PA 6-MG

You can buy them only with us. Because it is its own production of Pajero Evo club in Russia.

So with these bushings, do they come with everything you need, including the steel inner sleeve? And these are for the UPPER arms, right?

Yes, we're talking about the FRONT UPPER arms that of aluminum. One bushing assy costs 1750 rubles = $ 30. Bushing assy: Polyurethane bushing in a metal case, caprolon sleeve, inner metal sleeve - It's all included in the price.
Bushings for the upper rear arm for $ 35 apiece.
The lower arms we put the original bushings MD112711 and MD112710. They are sold separately and there is always in auto shops. With them there is no problem.

Has anybody managed to replace these bushings without replacing the entire control arm?

if you have access to a lathe, make a new steel inner sleeve and ream out the stock plastic bush to 22mm. from 21mm.

I am embarking on this now.

Have just had the ball joints upper and lower reconditioned, $75 NZD ea.

Have basically exhausted NZ resources of any bushes available and have now enquired to have the bushes made in nolothane. Will keep this updated on progress.

Have the control arms out for the most part. The front camber/castor bolt seems siezed on one side though, it seems seized in the bush on the arm. Surprisingly this is the only thing that gave me grief. Still giving me grief.

Have dropped an upper and lower arm to a SAS suspension specialists hoping they can source me some new bushes. When I finally get this bolt out I'll drop the other side off for recond ball joints, then hopefully all new bushes at the same time.

Finally got my arms back

Had to mould new ones in the end, cost me an arm and a leg but bushes done, had ball joints done aswell, but they could only do the upper, have to drop the lower off at Bricon engineering to make up a new pin etc. not far now, am taking the opportunity to wire brush out any surface rust in around the chassis, and seal it all with a rust kill and paint.

I had a spare upper ball joint I found in a box of parts so I had that reconditioned, try and build up some good spares in the cupboard.
